The Bicycle Escape is now a mobile bike shop! This means you will reach out to us, calls and text work great, in order to schedule service work. We will fix the bike on location or bring it back to our new building that houses a beautiful service shop. We can be reached at 240-397-3284.
We arrived at this big business decision in an attempt to enjoy a more balanced lifestyle and carve out a little more time with our families while still helping our clients with fast and professional service. Our mantra is we will meet you where you live, RIDE, or work. We plan regular pick ups from the popular ride start locations around the Watershed, Walkersville, and Lewistown areas. Imagine you recognize your bike is not functioning properly while on a ride, why not send us a text and we can meet you at your car at the end of your ride. Then we can deliver your bike to the very same location tuned and ready for your next go! We can pick the bike up from your home, your work… the possibilities are endless.
We have been renting bicycles, car racks, baby trailers, roof top cargo carriers, helmets, bags, bike locks and more for years now, but I don’t feel we have done an effective job of sharing the information.

Bottom bracket height is always a bit of a compromise. A high BB reduces the likelihood of striking your pedals on rocks, but it also means a higher center of gravity which can have a negative effect on handling.
